The Geeks Behind It All

Owner/Webmaster - Chris Kenworthy [skyhawk133]
Chris currently lives in Albuquerque, NM with his Wife, Dog, and Chinchilla. He is the founder of Dream.In.Code, and owner of parent company MediaGroup1 LLC. With over 12 years of web development experience and a degree in web technology, Chris worked for several web development shops, and the Department of Defense before becoming a full-time consultant. His hobbies are varied and change often, but he enjoys camping with family in and around New Mexico, and photographing air shows. You can contact Chris regarding advertising here:

Admin - Charles Lewis [Amadeus]
A resident of Ottawa, Canada, Charles has been programming for approximately 17 years in a variety of languages and using numerous platforms. His educational background is mathematics and computer engineering, and he is currently employed by Canada's largest telecom provider (with a small consulting business on the side). Having spent many years writing applications for network security and server/client interaction, he also developed an affinity for web based programming. An advocate of the open source community, he has written several applications related to physics and mathematical research. His non-geek interests include golf, hockey, good times, good tunes, travel, and whiskey.

Admin - Bryan Hughes [Nova Dragoon]
Bryan Hughes is a Linux systems programmer at New Mexico Tech's Computer Center, where he runs the center's High Performance and Visualization machines, and works on over 200 client Linux machines. As a proponent of Free and Open Source Software, he has helped organize Linux Days to distribute and help install F/OSS. Bryan also enjoys martial arts, strategy games, and cooking, specifically Japanese and Italian cuisine.

Admin - Jason Fairow [Jayman]
Jason graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering. He is currently working for a contractors bonding and insurance company as a software engineer designing web applications for insurance agents using C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, and AJAX. He has been addicted to computer technology since his early teenage years when he was given his first computer, a TRS-80 Color computer. He quickly taught himself to program in Basic and eventually moved up to programming in Pascal by taking online courses through University of California, Berkley Extension. Some of his favorite recreational activities are reading, spending time with friends and family, and watching movies.

Moderator - Richard McCutchen [PsychoCoder]
Richard was born a poor black child...nevermind, wrong movie. Richard knew at a very young age that he was destined to take over the world work with computers, he seen very early on that he just though differently than the other kids. After years of beating around on his Tandy he decided it was time to take this to a new level and enrolled at the University of Georgia, and has been fully entrenched in geek'dom ever since. He has a Masters from UGA, has his MCAD and MCSD Certifications, and been programming professionally for over 15 years now He now thinks, eats, breaths and yes, Dreams.In.Code

Moderator - Sanchit Karve [born2c0de]
Sanchit landed up on DIC at the age of 15 and decided to stay as it offered an amazing environment to learn. Extremely interested in Programming since the age of 13, Sanchit was frustrated of learning QuickBASIC and VisualBASIC for 5 years in school (even though BASIC got him interested in the first place) and hence started buying books from the local bookstore on various programming topics like C++,Assembly,Java,J2ME,PERL etc. It was DIC that helped him enhance his self-developed skills of Programming. Even after sporting the Author and Expert Badges, little he realise that he would have a chance to be the youngest moderator on DIC. His main interests include Programming and Reverse Engineering. Besides Geeking on the forum you can catch him Pumping Music in his ears, playing Cricket,Basketball, his Guitar or on Counter-Strike Servers.

Moderator - Szenthe Laszlo [1lacca]
A resident of Budapest, Hungary, Laci started lurking around in source codes at the age of 6 and has been programming in a variety of languages ever since so his parents slowly gave up the hope that he would become a lawyer or a doctor. After receiving his MSc in Computer Engineering at the Technical University of Budapest, he has completed Sun Hungary's 40 days long Java EE Master Course. Right now he is employed by a medium sized Hungarian firm that developes internet and intranet solutions for the banking and financial sector in several countries (but besides this he does consulting when he is approached with an interesting idea). He has been around DIC for a while, where he is happy to help the beginner and the advanced as well. His other interests include reading, swimming, visiting festivals and concerts, random DIY projects (fixing pinballs atm). He has a beautiful daugther.

Moderator [no2pencil]
Originally from a small town just outside of Sandusky Ohio, Jason spent a lot of his childhood at Cedar Point! At the age of 11, his parents brought home, a then state-of-the-art 8088 with two five & a quarter floppy drives, no hardrive or modem, & CGA graphics! This is where he developed a lot of his 'nose-to-the-book' fundamentals. Growing up in a small town meant that the library didn't have much (or anything) to offer as far as computer books, so it was off to the big city of Akron where he eventually started his own business offering Computer Repair, Web Hosting, & Software Development.

Moderator - Danny Battison [gabehabe]
Danny, age 18, has a real thirst for knowledge. He has been interested in I.T since he was only 8 years old, when he learned a whole two lines of BASIC! He began studying basic web design in his free time when he was 14 years old, and at the age of 16, he began studying C++ as his first programming language. He has since branched out to learn a variety of languages for topics such as software and game development. When he can tear himself away from the computer screen, Danny enjoys listening to music, reading (occasionally) and playing games, particularly those from the Final Fantasy series.

Moderator - James Blades [BetaWar]
James is currently a senior in high school interested in learning programming and working with computers; however this was not always the case. James began programming late in the eighth grade (shortly after getting his first email account) starting off with simple HTML and web based languages. As he learned more he chose to branch out into learning a number of other languages. While James proficient at many languages as of this time his passion is C++ and Web Development. James’ hobbies include gaming, collecting coins (and rocks), programming (for fun at this point and professionally later on if his plans work out), reading (when the right book comes along), and having a good time with friends and family.

Moderator - Justin Patsilevas [jjsaw5]
Justin graduated from college in the fall of 07 with a degree in Computer Science and has been working at a large investment company for the past two years as an analyst/programmer. He got into computers/programing when his dad took a job in the IT field when he was younger, ever since then he has been trying to soak up as much knowledge as he can. In his spare time Justin continues his passion for baseball by coaching high school baseball and continuing to play in the summers. He one day hopes to coach the college he played at.

Badges
As you browse the forums, you will notice members who have the badges seen below under their names. Their username will also appear in the corresponding color in member lists. Here is a quick run down of what each badge means and how to get them:
Contributor
When members submit
tutorials and code snippets, the dream.in.code team will award the Contributor badge. This badge is proudly displayed by members who have contributed to the dream.in.code community with quality content.
Author
Members who have taken time to write several tutorials or unique code snippets will be awarded the Author badge. These members have contributed high quality content to the site which is both informative and useful. Usually any member who has submitted more than one Admin accepted tutorial will get this badge.

Members who answer questions accurately and are deemed to be experts in a particular forum will be awarded the purple Expert badge. Experts are often looked at during the Moderator nomination process.
Mentor
Mentors are experts who also have moderator privledges in their forum of expertise. Mentors are recognized by the community as knowledgeable and helpful. Mentors are the first place we look for moderators.
Alumni
Alumni are members who were previously on the Dream.In.Code staff. They are moderators, admins, and other team members who have climbed the ladder and successfully escaped the grips of the Dream.In.Code dungeon where all staff members are kept.
Moderator
The blue Moderator badge is given to very active members who have contributed to the community, shown a desire to help, fully understand the rules and personality of the site, and are willing to dedicate several hours a day to helping and moderating the forum they're in charge of.
Admin
The green badge of Team members is earned by being extremely active in the community, helping on a daily basis, participating in community descisions and suggesting improvements. Team members are picked very carefuly by the Administrators and are super moderators. Our team members are usually our most helpful users. This badge is not given out often.
Webmaster
Isn't this self explanatory? The web master is the main administrator of the site and oversees the daily operations.
