Yesterday, I deployed a new feature that has been a long time coming. "Related Topics" display (hopefully) similar topics to the one you are currently viewing.

You'll notice right away that the related topics are both old and new, and are ranked with a variety of factors. The current beta is using the topic title and description to find similar topics in the same forum or equivalent tutorial category. It looks for proximity and occurence of words, # of replies, how recent the last post is, and a number of other factors to display similar threads.

This should make it easy for you to find tutorials that relate to the question, other threads where a question has already been answered, or similar discussions for areas like the caffeine lounge and corner cubicle.

We realize this may increase necro posting and are monitoring this closely, but do realize there is value in old threads and that DIC is a constantly growing database of questions, answers, and discussions and giving you insight in to similar topics is important to exposing that historical data.
