The whole moving the saveGame and loadGame into a class has worked very well, since I don't need to wonder how the hell to carry this variable to this header and back and forth. The next step is to come up with a sort of game engine, I'm thinking it will start by displaying a text HUD such as.
X:21 HP: CHAPTER:
Y:20 GOLD: DEATHS:
then take the input from the user , moving in a direction such as N E W S. After a movement is made, a random number will be generated. if number is < 100 then nothing happens however the variable should be saved. Next time they move, if the original number generated was 13, Another number would be generated and will keep on stacking so that fights are inevitable and even if the planets do align, after 40 steps you will in fact fight a monster.
As far as the combat system goes, I'm thinking turn based because hell, what else are you going to make in a text rpg?
Looking back, I'm very thankful I found DIC. While I was originally set on C#, I felt like I didn't really know what I was doing. Sure I knew how to convert.toStr(this) and even achieved serializing a class. But that still didn't feel like I knew what I was doing. Since Thin~toq or how ever the hell you spell/pronounce his name got on me, I've actually started to understand the language more in depth than before and would like to immensely thank him.
And you to DIC heads. you guys are awesome
