The main point of this blog is to provide a record of my learning experience with C (for embedded systems) and Python. This should really have begun about 10 months ago when I started my PhD but better late than never I suppose.
My subject is Atmospheric Physics and in a nutshell the project involves building wirelessly networked (NOT 802.11xx) weather stations and taking them down to Antarctica every summer where I deploy them over a small area to collect high-resolution data. The aim is to be posting here at least weekly for the next few months as I continue to develop code for driving weather stations (in C) then extract and analyse the data (using Python/NumPy as a replacement for MATLAB).
