Open World an open source XNA RPG

Role playing games have been a favorite of mine for a very long time and I have spent many hours, probably too many, playing them. I have written a number of tutorials on creating role playing games with XNA. The problem ended up being that a lot of time went into writing the code and the tutorials. I just couldn't find the time to finish them. I've wanted to finish the tutorials but instead I've decided to start work on an open source RPG because the writing tended to take longer than the coding. I've created an SVN for the project and I will update it as I make progress. I will also be creating a topic in the Share Your Project forum about Open World so progress can be followed there rather than posting everything here in my blog. I will be posting regular status reports though.

Open World will be a 2D top down RPG with character classes, modeled loosely after the Dragon Age games. It won't be a real time combat system but rather a turn based combat system. It will also be more of an RPG engine than an RPG in that I won't be doing a very elaborate story. Just a simple story with a few quests, enough to level up the player character a few times, with a climax.
