The Web Manifesto

I'm not sure if any of you have seen what I've been up to lately but after reading through a majority of the web programming books I've found I've come to a quite simple solution: Most all of them are completely bland, have no relevance to current subjects, and are best left as paperweights. Any of the books that are decent are so astronomically expensive it's no wonder schools never tough them, so it hit me:

The Web Manifesto

A complete book about everything in the web to get you on your feet from the basics of XHTML and CSS to jQuery, Grid systems, SEO, and more. Everything in one place, everything you'd need to know in todays web.

A lofty goal perhaps but I have enough good starts of drafts to get this project going by the time Summer hits in early June. I intend to write on Design principles, color, composition, and basic code but I need more people to make this goal a reality, I'm currently looking for these types of people with expertise in each field:

  • Javascript
  • jQuery and libraries
  • Grid Systems
  • SEO
  • PHP/SQL
  • Blogging
  • Social Networking
  • Advertising

This list is more or less incomplete and subject to change so if you have a good amount of skills in an area not mentioned and want in leave a comment or PM me and we'll see where it goes.

This will be a paid project. For every book sold the contributors will receive a percentage of the profits in accordance with the amount of material they have contributed.
