I finally have managed to clear off one of my many harddrives (way too many backups). So now I can finally really get into exploring Windows 8 and Visual Studio 2011 Beta at full speed, instead of working in a VM.
Also, Microsoft is challenging me to see how many downloads I can generate before the end of the month, so now is a great time to download them if your interested. ;-)
I'll talk about my experience likes/dislikes as I go through installing both and getting a small windows 8 app (with metro support), let me know what your experiences are. The more responses I get, the more I can let Microsoft developers know, and get more direct answers to your questions.
So click, download, and hopefully enjoy.

Cool. I too downloaded the VS 2011 iso image, but I haven't opened it up yet.

I do everything in VMware. VMWare workstation 8 seems to not like the Win8CP ISO for a RAW install. So I'm going to clone my Win7 virtual machine and then perform an upgrade to it. Not my preferred thing to do, but little choice.

Nope: That failed to. Multiple failures all after the first reboot; all at 16%. Win8 installer fails saying it doesn't know why but the OS has been restored to pre-installation state.
I guess I dig an old 32bit laptop about of the closet for it.
