I was recently given the opportunity to review Murach's Java Programming 4th Edition. It is part of what fueled my interest in evaluating Java for game programming. I recently finished the book and have written my review. On the whole I was happy with the book and would recommend it for anybody looking to learn Java. My review is below.

I was impressed with Murach’s Java Programming 4th edition. It is an excellent source for learning core Java and object-oriented programming with Java, for the beginner programmer and experienced programmer new to Java. It gets you going with Java using examples relevant in the business world. I’m always impressed with the format of books from Murach with text on the left and examples relating to the text on the right. I would definitely recommend this book for anybody looking to learn programming with Java.
