First of all thanks for all of the advice given here. It has helped me out no end so far. I seem to have a strange occurence and I'm not sure why this happens, or if its intentional.

I've shrunk the vista partition and installed xp on it
I've fixed the MBR using the method above and I can get the machine to boot into xp and vista.

Strangely tho it takes two attempts to get into an operating system if i've been in the other.
for example.

I boot into Vista... no problem. Reboot into XP to do some work and it restarts the machine. If I select Xp again it says that there was a problem please choose one of the following options. I choose Start normally and away it goes.

Finish with XP and try to boot in Vista it does the same, but without the "choose one of these options" screens.

It always needs to boot twice when swapping OS.

Now I realise it works but it's quite irritating.

Any ideas?

Many thanks.

I have an issue While installing Windows SP3. I have burned an .iso to a cd and tried it on my desktop to reboot my computer it works perfectly fine with it. (By the way it was Xp Desktop). Now i have a Hp Laptop and i can't seem to Successfully install Windows XP onto my 2nd Partition. It somehow keeps turning off before the installation process is done and sometimes gives my the BSOD(Blue Screen of Death). But i've manage to pop in my vista recovery cd and repair my startup so everything its normal agian. Any Help? I Want Xp with my Vista.
