Before starting, note that I will be using Macromedia Fireworks MX 2004 and results of this tutorial may differ with other versions. This tutorial is very simple yet shows a great effect.

Also, I will first show you the result of my tutorial, so you can understand the nature and difficulty of this tutorial.

I have used DIC's header and implemented the name into the background.
  1. To begin, we first paste an image on the canvas so in this case, the DIC header.
  2. We then type in text, so we type in </dream.in.code>. I have used ORC A Extended which should be included in all Fireworks and Windows.
  3. Then with the text selected, go to the Properties window below the screen, select Effects --> Bevel and Emboss --> Raised Emboss.
  4. For the text, the properties are as followed:
    • Width - 2
    • Contrast - 100%
    • Softness - 0
    • Angle - 30
    • Show Object - Unchecked

And now the result should be the same as mine. biggrin.gif
