In this tutorial, we will take a look at making a bootable device in OSX via Disk utility. First off make sure you have the files you want mounted and the device in your mac machine. After that it's pretty much a matter of two parts really.

Part 1 is making it a bootable partition: so let's open up Disk utility. It's found under Finder/Services. Good! Now we have to make a partition by clicking on the device in the left column and going over to Partition. Like so:

*NOTE* In the format there are many types. So pick the right format you want to use.

Then you go to options and make sure it's a boot disk. You do this like so:

Then you obviously click.

The next part is to copy the files onto the disk in a way that it would boot. You do this by clicking Restore right next to the RAID button. Like so:

Then you pick the files you wan to make bootable and put them into the Source section. Make sure the files are mounted. Otherwise it won't work.

Then you put the device into the Destination section.

Then click restore and just wait for a bit.

If this doesn't work, you might want to try Toast. It's more efficient and in my opinion a lot easier to use.

Well I hope that was helpful and I hope it works out well for you.
