Hi guys I need to add some wavy lines to my header image, I have no clue how to do this. I don't know how to use the pen tool properly.

Maybe someone with experience can help me out?

And here the effect I want to make (SKETCHUP!)



I want it to be gray, and semi transparent. Any help would be greatly apreciated, I know you pros can do this in about 15 seconds. xD Thanks!

Yeah, something like that. But in solid black, and semi transparent.

I can just give you a simple way to do it. On a new layer, make a solid grey line. Go to Filter->Distort->Wave if I'm correct, choose settings. Then mess around with the opacity settings or layer settings like Hue/Saturation to achieve color. I'll see if I can find you a well-written tut on making tip-top wavy lines.

Ok - I'll teach you how to do it.

1. Select the pen tool
2. Press cmd+'-' or ctrl+'-' to zoom out so that you can see the edges of the canvas
2. Place your 'pen' cursor on the left edge of the canvas
3. Now hold down the 'shift' key and click some where in the middle of your canvas and KEEP PRESSING DOWN ON YOUR MOUSE BUTTON
4. It will create a straight line, but drag your mouse straight down and you will see the curve bend
5. Once you are done with your curve let go of the mouse button
6. Now simply hold 'shift' down again and click the right side edge of your canvas and it will produce a perfect curve.
7. Once done, click your layer that you created the curve in and press cmd+J or ctrl+J to duplicate the layer.

That's all there is to it. If you want to change the complexity or angle of the curve, click the pen icon and hold down, then click the icon that looks like a carrot. Then click the middle '.' and it will give you two more dots connected to a line, drag those around to change your curves.
