tell me the exact problem what is the error message have you tried logging in by safe mode try even safe mode with command prompt can yu go to the bios and check wheter hard disk is detected
If it's not booting in safe mode, I would boot off your retail Windows XP disk, select F8 to accept the agreement, & select R for OS repair. This will remove Windows Core components & dll files, & reinstall them. It will not format your system & it will not erase your data. it simply reinstalls Windows. Mid install it will ask for the registration key, so have that handy before you begin.
That's what I would do if it isn't booting in any mode off your boot list.

yes thats the excellent way and also it will not erase a single byte of data from your hard drive if you get stuck in repair do install xp in the same drive again even this wont delete a single byte data if still the error only one option format the drive and reinstall xp there

Look at my last post, I did. Try the repair from your Windows XP retail disk.
When I tried to repair OS at Recovery Console. It first prompts like below 1. C:\Windows which Windows? I entered 1 (as my windows is in C: drive) and it prompts to enter Administrator password: I just entered (as no password I have set) then just it prompts in C:\Windows Here now what should I do? please tell me.(because no visual display to Repair)

If you have a memory stick going bad this will cause the rebooting as well. Try removing each stick one at a time to see if you can get the computer to boot. If it boots with a certain stick out then that one is bad
There are some viruses that will cause your pc to reboot endlessly, and some Windows Updates have been known to cause your computer to reboot endlessly. The viruses can be fixed, but you have to know which virus and usually get a hotfix for it from your AV vendor. We have never figured out how to fix the Windows Updates reboot cycle, and always wind up ghosting the machine.
What I would do is jot down your XP registration code, get an XP OS disk that matches your OS (home/Pro) & do an OS repair.
Boot off the cd, select to install, F8 to accept the agreement, & then at the next screen select R for repair. Not the console repair, but the OS repair. It'll go through the same steps like an install, but what it's doing is removing the Windows core dlls & sys files, & then reinstalls them. At one point you will be prompted for the registration key. This should repair the issue.
You'll want to make sure that you then do any hot fixes, updates, or service packs that are missing.
What everyone has told you to do with your system disk is absolutley right on and what I would do first.
You could also load the system properties window ->control panel->system or right click My Computer and click Properties Go to the advanced tab and click the settings button under Startup and Recovery Under System Failure make sure Write an event to the system log and send an administrative alert are checked make sure Automatically Restart IS NOT CHECKED.
This might allow you to see what is causing the problem. If not, you can now check your system logs or event viewer to see what the problem is.

If you are able to chose "safe mode" then try this...
Get to the boot menu (where the safe mode choice is)
And choose "Last Known Good Configuration" ...this will load the drivers and such from the last successful logon when you reached the desktop.
If LKGC does not work, then you may have a system file corrupt.
The easiest way to correct a corrupt file is to get to a command prompt(boot from a cd/floppy containing an operating system which will get you there) and then try to fix the files with "scandisk".
If those do not work then another solution is to create a dual boot, install another instance of Windows. Boot from your XP disk just like you would install a fresh install but choose to install another Windows OS into a new windows directory. You may then be able to boot to the second XP you just installed and then run scandisk from the second XP you just installed. You may be able to save your original XP installation and return to it.
Try those and I will monitor this thread and offer some other solutions
