How exactly do I improve my ranking on google? I know I can do link building by going to forum after forum and creating accounts with Guitar Songs in the signature area. But that is hardcore spam and I hate that. What is another way to build links or build ranking with google with a new-born site with not much traffic?

http://www.dreamincode.net/forums/showtopic11029.htm <|--- best advice I've come across.

I think you'll struggle with a .info domain, they're not so "highly regarded" as .com, .net, etc. (Or at least, I don't think they are)

Having the all important phrase in your domain is a good start though. Get some header tags in there, perhaps make it look like normal text.

Rather than setting those images as backgrounds for divs, use img tags and give them alts with keywords. (Especially the first one)

Using something like apache's mod_rewrite will give you lots of "new content" according to web spiders.

DIC actually uses something like that, each thread isn't actually a page, but it looks like it.

example,
http://www.dreamincode.net/forums/showtopic104867.htm
Is rewritten to something like http://www.dreamincode.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=104867 (Not so pretty, eh?)

http://guitar-songs.info/epic-band/epic-song perhaps?

One of the problems you will find is that your TLD has a dash in it. Search Engines read stuff as humans do. Case in point, if a domain has a dash in it sometimes I forget that it does. The Search engines know this so they drop your TLD indexing to the bottom of the list.

Also as gabehabe said, your using a .info, people forget about .info all the time, your TLD will be dropped to the bottom of the list again with the .us, .me, .car, .koolaid, .firm (Get my drift).

Expecting decent pagerank with your setup will be difficult (harsh yes but Im giving it to ya straight).

Just add your info to http://alexa.com and hope you start getting decent results within 6 months to 10 years.
