What is the weirdest bug you've ever encountered in a game?
In Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising, if you fly a littlebird and go 3rd person-1st person-3rdperson just right, you sit in mid air while the helo flies off. You cannot move and have to restart!
I like the bug in L4D where in Dead Air I think it is, if there is a tank in the second level in the sewers, one person can camp in the ladder and the tank will get stuck at the bottom and your team can shoot him from above. Works like a charm.
It was an old DBZ game for gba or something like that, if you got hit and were flying just right it would glitch were you couldn't get hit but could still kill everyone, just as long as you didn't cancel out.
Anyone who played the original pokemon games probably remembers missingno in all its glitchtacular glory. There was a lesser-known trick I had seen referred to as "glitch city".
It was weird the way it worked. It involved going into the safari zone, trying to fly out, and leaving in a weird way, I can't remember the particulars, it's been so long. But, anyway, when you leave, and spend all the steps you'd take in the safari zone, you'll get called over PA like you normally would, and you'd wind up teleporting into the safari zone entrance. When you leave, you'll wind up in some weird, glitched-up map with even weirder collision (There's no way to tell what's a wall and what isn't). Even more interesting, the resulting glitched up map was influenced by where you were when you get called back to the safari zone entrance. I had fun finding out what each place looked like in the glitchy mode.
OK. In CS1.6 portable version, whenever you select the most powerful weapon (machine gun), it just freezes. Not cool as it takes like 5 minutes to reload.
In the level "Temple City Ambush", the exit point is a mat shop. I unfortunately got caught between the mat rolls and there was no way out as 47(player) cannot jump.
That was some real bad luck as I was playing with Professional difficulty level and even hadn't saved the game. I had to replay the whole level again.
And the funniest thing in all this was that the mat rolls were lying HORIZONTALLY!!!

i was playing L4D in no mercy at the lift. I got pounced by a hunter and the game glitched out and I was floating in midair like 10 ft above the lift then i fell and died from fall damage. it made me laugh.
GTA Vice City The "race" mission I spawned a tank and drove it around to block the other car and when the car hit the tank the game completly froze.(hahaha) Also GTA IV in online mode has this one map where you can jump behind a wall and shoot from inside out of this building that doesn't have doors and your able to damage others but they can't damage you. It's fairly well known but not supposed to use it when competing seriously. Funny ha. Best of luck to pi...
KOTOR II (on Xbox) had a lot of bugs in the cutscene animations where you would be talking to people and usually they would be 1) Stuck in a looping animation that reached the end and then reset (ie. the person would slowly stand up and then instantly be sitting down). 2) Facing away from you when they were having a conversation with you.
Also Halo 1/2 had bugs where you could skip the harder parts of the level by just running ahead (the scripts that spawned the enemies would never run), which made the game much easier even on the harder difficulties.
Call of Duty: World at War (Xbox 360) - Roundhouse Map There was a gate behind the railroad tracks, where if you jump enough by a white spot, you can get through it and be under the map, therefore you cannot be injured by other players. Pretty good way to quickyl gain XP points there
There are actually many such glitches in CoD: WaW pretty much on every map.
HALO was an awesome game. Not just blood, guts and violence, but a plotline, as well as being the first alien FPS. It started a whole genre, which it was always at the top of.
In GRand Theft Auto: San Andreas PS2, if you enable the flying car cheat and fly a car out into the ocean and continue flying downwards under the water, you'll teleport to the airport.
That's an actual bug that was later fixed. It does not involve any cheating since it was not inserted into the game with a specific purpose. The textures and physics were handled wrong in that specific place.
