Hi, I just finished with this web site

www.air-guitars.net

I am a designer, retoucher and came up with this funny theme. After a few nice comments from friends, I decided to put some google ads on it.

What is your thought on that. I mean clearly, the site is just meant for some fun, and please don't click on the BUY NOW button. I would not even know what to do then. Well, you would get an empty carton I guess.

So would you put some ad-links on your site, just because you get some hits. Not that it is much revenue anyway.

Thanks, and I love to have design and concept feedback as well.

Thanks, Dimitri

There are several pieces of advice I would give (just my recommendations though):
  • When you get the cursor over a link on the arch link bar it should be the opposite - the text should be clear by default and with a stroke when the mouse is over.
  • The Google Ads on the left make the site non-proportional. From one side, you have blank space (left side) while the other is full. Put the ads on the very bottom of the page.
  • The promotional video image doesn't have a regular hand cursor (when hovering a link). The regular style="cursor:hand;" should help solve this issue. Or did you intentionally remove the hand cursor? The same applies to the site logo.
  • You have two navigation bars - the arch one and the vertical one. In my opinion there should be one single navigation bar to avoid confusion. Try organizing everything in less categories. If there are some more elements, try including them in some specific category and just create a dropdown menu to display them.
  • Add a footer, including copyright information (if there is any), the year the page was created and short informarmation like who is the webmaster and how to contact him.
  • There is an error in the mail address linked to the line link at the bottom of the page. Just check its structure.

Personally, I don't care if you have two menus. If you are going with what Core said about a drop-down menu, I would put all of the guitar types in one drop-down, make a home link, and I'd make a drop-down called "Air Info" and I'd put the rest of the links from the vertical menu in there.

...But it's your website, and you can do whatever you'd like smile.gif

Pleasure,

Chris
