My boss has gone and bought a server machine running Small Business Server 2003. All of our worktop computers are using Vista Home Premium.

Our Vista machines are all part of the same workgroup, but because they are running Home editions, they cannot connect to a domain. Our SBS machine is a domain controller which, apparently, cannot connect to a workgroup.

Can anyone tell me how I can get these machines talking to each other? We are not trying to do anything fancy with them, just shared file storage on the 2k3 machine.

Thanks,
Bort

Ok, been looking at ways to access shared stuff on the SBS2k3 machine from the Vista PCs, and found this.

I followed the instructions, and tried use the "Net Use" command to access the drive. A command prompt window comes up asking for the password, which is given, then sits there for a minute or so before vanishing.

I was following instructions for Net Use from here so don't see why it wasn't working.

Is anyone else familiar with Net Use, and if so, can anyone offer any suggestions as to what is going wrong?

Thanks,
Bort
