Hello

I suck at maths and as such don't have the patience to try and work out the relation of the following numbers.

I know for a fact that they're linked somehow, I'm just not sure how. When looking at a colour circle, these are on the opposite part of the circle, using the central as a midpoint.

I could probably work out (if I spent some time) the relationship to the HSV values, but it's the RGB values that I need some sort of formula for.

The numbers are below, both sets are for the same colours. As you'll probably see, like mentioned above, the HSV values are somewhat obviously relational, however the RGB values arn't, can anyone offer any help as to getting a formula to work this out? The line marked "<" is the source/midpoint that the other 4 colours are being generated from.

CODE
HSV
104 69 92
104 89 32
104 79 62 <
307 99 32
307 79 62

RGB
115 234 72
28 81 9
66 158 33 <
81 1 72
158 33 143

Are you talking about this kind of wheel?

And what do you mean by opposite part of the circle?

Okay, so you're trying to find a mathematical relationship between the RGB values of one point of the circle and its opposite?

Well it would be easier to work with HSV. I can get the exact opposite, but it's the exact relation between the HSV values in the lists below are.

The following are all calculated using the same algorithm (which I don't know...), "<" denotes the midpoint.

CODE
HSV (orig colour 429e21)
104 69 92
104 89 32
104 79 62 <
307 99 32
307 79 62

HSV (ff0000)
0 90 100
0 100 70
0 100 100 <
137 100 70
137 100 100

HSV (0000ff)
240 35 100
240 100 70
240 100 100 <
49 100 70
49 100 100

CODE
HSV (orig colour 429e21)
104 69 92 < 1
104 89 32 < 2
104 79 62 <
307 99 32 < 3
307 79 62 < 4

Are < 1 and < 4 opposites, and < 2 and < 3 opposites?

I'm sorry that I'm having trouble understanding.

Well I've got a non-exact copy of the above values atm. It seems to be close enough so I'm going to stick with it, trying to work out the exact algorithm used is far too complicated, especially at 1:30am.

Thanks for your help smile.gif
