Hi, I'm making a game in XNA and I have various sketches of levels, items, etc. and I'd like to touch to them up, give them color, erase dodgy lines, etc. I just want the images to look crisp and "finished".
Though you certainly don't need the $700+ versions. I borrowed a friend's cheaper one and it worked fine for me. Here are some other products. My friend had something similar to the Bamboo Fun, though I can't seem to find the exact model he had.

You guys misunderstood my question. I don't really want to buy anything to help me. I just want to use a regular mouse+keyboard. What software should I use?
I haven't worked on sprites in a while. Scanning is a good start. GIMP is a great free tool for working on graphics. I've started using it with another program to start making tiles. Once you have your characters, tiles will be your next chore. If you thought sprites were hard, tiles are worse! There are programs that will help you out with that though.
