I'm trying to make a .ico icon for the little tab for i.e and other browsers what is the size they are usually done in?

Normally they have one of 2 sizes. Either 16x16 or 20x20, now I have seen some icons that are 24x24, but I am not sure if they were for browsers or the window.

i saw olso on 32x32.
You can use IcoFX to transfor from jpg, png, etc... to ico, and you can resize the ico how do you want. good luck!

16x16 will be used in the browser's address bar.

Anything higher may be used in Favourites/Bookmarks, if you use IE it creates a shortcut in a folder somewhere and the icon will be used there.
