Hi

I don't really know where to post this but I have searched google, other forums, tutorial websites but I didn't find how to make an upload script showing the % of the upload.

I'm not looking for the code but maybe what language is needed to do this and maybe some pseudo code or whatever.
(I'm talking about something gmail has)

The easiest way is to just use a Flash object to do the uploading. I've had good luck with SWFUpload, but there are a bunch out there. Just Google around and I'm sure you'll find one that will do the job.

PHP 5 allows for Javascript to get the amount of the file that has been uploaded thus far, so you could potentially do a progress bar that way. I believe that is how google and others do it as you don't get any flash menu when you right click on the progress bars they provide.

Yeah, PHP won't be able to do this as it is server side only. However, Javascript should work nicely for this.
