So on the spur of the moment we thought we would go and see the midnight showing of Transformers II -- kind of re-live our college days.

Except it was NOT cool -- it was terrible. The audience was loud and obnoxious and talked and cheered and booed and gave commentary. Every story a comedian has ever told about talking in movie theaters happened. There were phone calls, the whole theater was twittering the damn move line for line, there was someone who could not follow the plot and had to ask "why did he do that?" every 5 minuets. The lady behind us judged each character's action with a completely stereo typical, "I know he just didn't...". The only thing we didn't have during the movie was the one guy who stands up and tries to shush someone... As the action grows, the extra sound track grows -- but after the climax the action recedes but people loose all inhibition and start critiquing the movie right then and there -- I have no idea how the movie actually ended -- but I do know that the people to my left were going to go meet up at "Jake's house."

It was a terrible experience that eclipsed the movie which I will have to see again some day when I can actually pay attention instead of plotting the horrible deaths of the people around me.

I used to really like going to see the midnight shows. There was an excitement to it -- that is dead. I am officially too old. How do I KNOW that I am too old -- well rather than being mad that I didn't get to hear half of the new Transformer's movie -- I am mad that I payed 35$ so we could listen to a bunch of jackasses get hyped about special effects and laugh hysterically at cheap lowbrow humor.

Anyway... just thought I would share... ain't the internet grand.

Same thing happened to us when we went to see the opening of Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

We were told that MC Chris was going to be there... we went to the wrong showing. There was like 6 to 12 people int he crowd, total. & one guy took it upon himself to shout MeatWad every time that he (MeatWad) was on the screen.

I once went to this X-rated movie and there was this guy in the back who seemed to wear nothing but a coat who kept saying things like, -"now the bra comes off" just before the girl took her bra off, kinda like he had seen the movie 20 times before. Took all of the excitement out of the movie. Then there were other guys in the room who kept making strange noises all through the movie, made you wanna throw popcorn at them.

I went with a friend who thought he was cooler than he really was to go see a movie (can't remember which though) and there was a guy in the back who laughed obnoxiously, so he would imitate him and basically outlaugh (retardedly) the guy trying to be as loud, obnoxious, and retarded as possible. Yea...

Same thing with me, my father, my mother, my grandpa and grandmother all went to see Star Trek just like they did with the older movies. We very very rarely go to the theater like that, but we got the same assortment of comments although not as bad. The lady to my left kept talking about the funny robot in the opening credits.

Long before that when we saw a different movie that had all that, we actually complained about it and got our money back. We didn't ask for our money back, we just complained about the soda on the screen and stuff- they decided to refund us which was nice.

I don't know, I find midnight showings fairly entertaining. The last one I went to (Harry Potter and the oder od the Pheonix... I think, that is the most recent one right? lol) had a lady start wailing when Serius died; at first I thought it was part of the movie, but then I realized she was sitting like 2 rows back, I couldn't help but laugh...
