I just bought myself a new keyboard to use with my laptop, and now I'm curious, how many of you out there use a keyboard other than the built in one on your laptop?

My keyboard is a Logitech MK300 (with mouse), it's nice, but the keys are actually closer than a regular desktop keyboard. I'm happy with it, mostly because it has a ton of features (though most only work with windows) and it's wireless.

And if you are using an extra keyboard:

1. What do you use it for?

2. Do you use it all the time?

3. Is it wireless?

I've got an MSI Wind. I use the built in keyboard, but most of my friends complain about it. I have not problem with smaller keyboards.

I have a bluetooth keyboard at work that I use almost exclusively for all of my work...can't stand using the laptop keyboard because my hands are too large and there's no key response so it doesn't feel right.

I have pretty serious carpel tunnel in my wrist. Using a laptop keyboard causes it to flare up like nothing else. I NEED to use a regular full keyboard or I cant type for more than five minutes without severe pain lasting for hours or days.

It isn't wireless. I would like to get one; this way I can plug in my LCD tv into it and sit back on my sofa and mess around on the big screen.

I've got a Macbook Pro, and I don't think I've ever used a keyboard other than the built-in one - but one of the first things I did after getting it home was buy a bluetooth mouse. Trackpads are okay, but not as good as mice.

I use my keyboard built-in because I already have to carry lots of stuff with me to school.

I don't use an extra keyboard, but I really need one. Dell makes nice laptops, but this keyboard is awful and it is falling apart...

I wish I had an extra keyboard for my laptop, it gets annoying having to work with a miny keyboard whenever I use my laptop. I enjoy being able to spread out with the full sized one on my desktop.

I always used an external keyboard with my laptop. I use a MS Ergonomic keyboard with my desktop.

Yes. HP laptops have a small button to disable it then when your're ready to use the touchpad, just press it and it is enabled again. smile.gif

My wrist hitting the touchpad was definitely the biggest reason for wanting an extra keyboard.

Tonight I work out some of my shortcut keys, and they work wonderfully thanks to xbindkeys. biggrin.gif Now I have volume controls again. I'll never need to hit my eject button again either thanks to my keyboard eject biggrin.gif

Another nice thing about having a wireless keyboard, you have the advantage of having the keyboard on your lap without the HEAT.

I use my laptop keyboard. I can't however, live with out my wireless mouse. My roomie uses a wireless keyboard with hers and a wireless mouse. The only complaint I have about my laptop keyboard is no numberpad built in.

Nope! Since I started regularly using my laptop I find that I cant use anything else. I feel like a drunk ape trying to use a regular keyboard. If anything, I wish I could get a laptop keyboard for my desktop!
