Hi,

Can anyone tell me why my security settings are blocking my XML into loading into flash.

I made this project where it loads XML in 2 different tabs. The first tab loads the XML no problem, but the second tab XML doesn't load at all.

Is there some kinda publish setting I'm missing or something else I need for this to work?

Thanks,
Bmcc81

Just a quick question (I haven't looked at the code yet). Is the XML file that isn't loading offsite? If it is there needs to be certain other XML files implemented that tell Flash it is allowed to do what it is trying (not sure why they did things this way, XML is almost always meant for public view).

Hi,

Well, I'm loading the XML from another site and it seems to work fine when I have it on my desktop, but when I upload the site it doesn't work.

Can anyone tell me why this happens?

Thx,

This is the intended behaviour for loading an XML file from a different domain to the originating request. More info and solution: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14213.html

The essence of it is that you must have an XML file called crossdomain.xml on the domain that you are trying to load data from.

And the reason you aren't having any trouble when using it on your desktop is because Flash can put the movie in a sandbox so it can't do anything bad. This allows for Flash to let everything you tell the program to do happen. When it is online you don't have the sandbox.
