I downloaded Windows 7 RC (Build 7100) from the Microsoft Website during the first week of its release and I even obtained the key from there.

A few weeks later I am told that my copy is not genuine, at startup.
What's weird is that I don't receive any such reports after I restart my computer.

Obviously, my copy is genuine and this seems like a weird bug to me.

Have you guys experienced anything like this before?

This has happened to me before but I've taken a screenshot this time.

Even Windows itself now identifies that it's copied from Xorg & OSX.

I would try to obtain another legal key from microsoft and HOPEFULLY it will ask/allow you to change the key or enter a good one. If not, there are a few ways to change your product key, and hopefully it will get that annoying message to go away.

If not, just as others said, you can always reinstall.
