Speeding up SQL

D.I.C Regular Joined: 22 Dec, 2008 Posts: 260 Thanked: 2 times My Contributions	I am building a contact manager and for the home page I am getting really slow load times. All I am doing is pulling the person's ID, First Name, Last Name, and it takes 2188 ms. It all happens in a CFDiv because I also have a searchbox on the right side of the list. The DB has about 300,000 records and the search box has another CFDiv that get the recordcount. So I have this one SQL statement that runs in 2 CFDivs each running about 2188 ms load. Does anyone have any ideas to speed up load time.

It was running slow because we were parsing through 303,000 records ordering it all by last name. We ended up setting up a View for the table and are now down to 1 second load time max.
