Please post the code you have written in an effort to resolve the problem, and our members would be happy to provide some guidance. Can't/Shouldn't give code to you but can give a hint.
Use combination of VB6 + Batch files
Use google, try something and come back.. you'll feel better.

The Batch File method includes calling the shutdown command which internally calls the Windows API.
Hence, it's better to call the shutdown API function from the application itself.
