Hi all

I have just got myself Visual Studio 2005, and have started to try and work out VB. I used to dabble in QBASIC and am finding it totally different, and would like to know if you can recommend any good books to help me with code.

I'm trying to make an assett register software, and need to know how to save work to external files so they can be imported into Excel and printed off after all assetts have been recorded into my system.

Thanks Rob

is Visual Basic Express 2008 easier to use, than Studio 2005, and would you recommend this to start off with instead.

Thanks

This is the VB6 forum. You may want to look in the VB.NET forum as VS 2005 is a VB.NET related studio.

Welcome to Dream In Code.

I suggest you use vs 2008 as 2005 is no longer supported.
Plus some of the feature available in it make coding simpler

There is a free download of visual basic 2008 express on the Microsoft website.

If you encounter any problems with your code direct your question in in vb.net forum.
