I came across this today and thought it sounded pretty fun.

Anyone going to try and roll this one up quickly?

QUOTE

This competition is about learning, or otherwise developing, the best controller (agent) for a version of Super Mario Bros.

The controller's job is to win as many levels (of increasing difficulty) as possible. Each time step (24 per second in simualated time) the controller has to decide what action to take (left, right, jump etc) in response to the environment around Mario.

FYI it's java based if that makes a difference.

------
If we burn through and miss the deadline it might be fun to do it internally for the site.

This is one of the coolest things that I have seen for a while lol. I am in for sure, but I think that we should hold one of our own, but change it up a little. 1st of all make the starting not so convoluted... takes to much time to setup this way.

Great find!
