Hi guys
I'm taking the courses which Stanford university is offering online it's about computer science
i wanna know if i should have taken any math, algebra or geometry courses before i start studying

should i take any of these courses before i start in the department of computer science


i wanna be a programmer

it depends on what you are studying from those online courses..some stuff will require math

A lot of math generally requires remembering formulas that you can usually just reference in programs. It does help if you start doing work with collision detection and more advanced OOP but with computer sciences you should be able to get by without know these equations. the majority of programming is math so you should be able to get by without math. but like mostyfriedman said. "depends on what you are studying..."

the course name Programming Methodology and it is all about java

Once you start working with Algorithms and Analysis you should have an understanding of Summation formulas (which any decent CS program will teach you ALL of that in a Discrete Math course) If the Major is cross listed as "Computer Science Engineering" be prepared to take much math, physics, and electronics
