New D.I.C Head Joined: 11 Sep, 2009 Posts: 22 My Contributions	Hi guys I'm taking the courses which Stanford university is offering online it's about computer science i wanna know if i should have taken any math, algebra or geometry courses before i start studying should i take any of these courses before i start in the department of computer science i wanna be a programmer

D.I.C Regular Joined: 28 Feb, 2009 Posts: 335 Thanked: 19 times Dream Kudos: 200 My Contributions	A lot of math generally requires remembering formulas that you can usually just reference in programs. It does help if you start doing work with collision detection and more advanced OOP but with computer sciences you should be able to get by without know these equations. the majority of programming is math so you should be able to get by without math. but like mostyfriedman said. "depends on what you are studying..."

D.I.C Addict Joined: 23 Oct, 2006 Posts: 537 Thanked: 8 times Dream Kudos: 225 My Contributions	Once you start working with Algorithms and Analysis you should have an understanding of Summation formulas (which any decent CS program will teach you ALL of that in a Discrete Math course) If the Major is cross listed as "Computer Science Engineering" be prepared to take much math, physics, and electronics
