D.I.C Head Joined: 2 Jun, 2009 Posts: 87 My Contributions	So i want to develop a tool that compares specific strings. What i want to do is have a specif text file right. also note that these are HL7 messages that i want to compare so they change with each patient. But what i want to do is program it to scan each field and segment, \|\|\|\|\|\|\|\|\|\| In other words search between the field separators and notice differences in fields that i declare. I would like to do it in C# or VB.net. But i am not sure how to approach and what kind of methods and classes i should use. I know i need to use the REgExpressions. The main reason for this is due to scaning messages for new medical upgrades. New upgrades from vendors tend to change the required data inside thats required to qualify thanks
