I have heard that Rio Rancho is going to have wireless internet and I have seen them putting the antennas on top of the light posts.

When is this or is this already available?

If it is how do we get it beacuse I am sick of dial up!!

I think there's two networks available right now, Azulstar and some other one.

Azulstar is currently unprotected (tee hee), but the speed sucks. The other one sucks as well.

All in all, wireless dsl over a city wide area kind of blows unless you really really need it.

I think they're trying to broadcast a general t1 line or something over the city but you get sub par dsl speeds.

Azulstar is unproteched but uses https for logins that bind your mac and ip from dhcp to a usable session that can access the internet

its better than dialup but if you just want wireless, buy dsl/cable (go for cable if you have the money) and get a wireless router unless you absolutely have to travel around the city and have wireless all the time.
