smile.gif biggrin.gif Just a question, is the new programming language, D, to come the next big thing? I wonder how such a compiler will hold up under Windows Vista Ultimate or other 64 bit OS pressure?

I heard of it in like 2007, but I don't think it will do anything. I haven't heard anything about it in a while so, I don't know. crazy.gif

D is an interesting language much like C++ -- one of the most interesting things in D is that it simplifies and expands upon metaprogramming.

D is very much a "lessons learned" version of C++ -- many of the features of D are also features of other languages that examined C++'s strengths and weaknesses closely.

I like D better than say ObjectiveC. ObjectiveC has been around since the 80's and yet it is really just coming into popular use (due to Apple).

It usually takes a while before a language really comes into its own. It is still too early to pass judgment on the fate of D as a language. It takes a while for people to really wrap thier head around what a language's distiguishing features really MEAN -- what their implications are. For example, JavaScript existed for a long time before the incredible OOP nature of it really "clicked". However, I think in the last few years we have learned quite a lot about programming languages and there are quite a number of "new" languages out there.
