Hey, I'm just wondering if anyone knows how to choose the optimal window size when you're using a Go-back-n protcol. Should you just try untill you get a decent time or is it a formula or something to actually calculate the window size.
Thanks in advance.

:: dusts off his protocol reference manual ::

According to Multimedia Communications by Fred Halsall,

"The limit is normally selected so that the send window does not impair the flow of I frames across the link. Factors such as the maximum frame size, available buffer storage, link propogation delay, and transmission bit rate must all be considered when selecting the send window."

Good luck!
