Go for it. Of course, this area covers a multitude of platforms. I can cover android tutorials, but I'm hoping that we have some kick ass iPhone, J2ME, BREW, etc developers among us, and I'm calling you out!

Anyway, if you'd like to request a tutorial, please feel free to post here and let us know what you're looking for. If it's an android tutorial, I'll try to get it done within a week of your request. smile.gif

I can handle all J2ME tutorials and maybe a couple of .NET Micros.
In fact, I was planning on writing them this week so I'd love to see requests for J2ME.

I'm planning on teaching my self Java ME this week, so I might be able to submit a tutorial or two on the basics eventually.

I think you can do this with a ContentObserver.

This one you can do by extending BroadcastReceiver and overriding onReceive().

I'll get to work on tutorials for them this week. Thanks for the suggestions. smile.gif

I'd love to see a tutorial on using http: get and post with various options explored:
o password protected
o https - secure transfers
o background options to prevent blocking - threads or service

One thing I found very helpful in your tutorials is why something is done and where did it come from.

Another interesting tutorial might be on extending the user interface with enhancements to buttons, textviews etc. - a very good example is a new app called Speedtest - it's interface is slick. Nice button and textview enhancements - simple yet effective layouts. The tutorial would basically be on design and 'bling' - the technical side, approaches - I think a good discussion could result too. App speed impacts for enhancements needs to be considered too.

Thanks,

David
