Was just wondering if anyone could explain what the difference between the normal Python you can download from python.org and the version that is available at the ActiveState website?? At first I thought it was bundled with something and they were charging for it, but as far as i could tell there is absolutely no difference.....

What is the point of it, and why would someone choose it over the version at python.org?

Some many years ago, the Python website did not distribute windows binaries. ActiveState packaged up Python into a simple installer with some flourishes, and that become very popular.

Now there are official Python windows binaries and support, so ActivePython isn't needed.
