Not sure if this is the correct place to post.

Currently looking for ideas of a system design I could come up with for an events notification. In class we used examples of gig subscription and temperature subscription. I only want ideas here, not looking for the complete design. Can't seem to come up with any easy example right now, was thinking about a library book subscription thing? Would that work?

Follow the lecture notes of today (Lecture 10) to define the APIs for the subscriber and the publisher, including passed parameters and returned results. Before that, make an analysis of the system you consider (one page) and develop the system design (one page).

One page each also sounds really long? blink.gif

Can anyone point me to some articles/examples of analyzing and designing a system? Our lecturer gave us the following things about them, but I'm still a bit lost :S

I pulled out two key words from there... 'Subscriber' and 'Publisher'.

Are you at all familiar with Design Patterns? I would research them, I believe they may be helpful to you.

In particular, I would recommend researching what's called the Observer Pattern. The observer pattern describes how best to go about designing a system that includes subscribers and publishers. The subscribers 'subscribe' to a publisher that keeps them informed of the latest system 'events' that they need to be concerned with.

Hope this helps.
