Ok so my FiOS has a router/modem -- works great but is slower/less versatile than my Linksys N-Band router.

So I set up my router to get an IP from the FiOS router. Works Semi-Great...

My problem is that resources on the FiOS router can't see the Linksys subnet computers. The opposite is of course not true, the Linksys computers can connect to the FiOS computers with no problem.

So far I have been setting up port-forwarding rules and this has been working, but now I really need a network connection going FiOS to Linksys and port forwarding does not seem to be working (guess I have the wrong ports). But this leads me back to my original quandry:

Why can't all of the computers on 192.168.x.x communicate freely? Well "why" is pretty easy... I guess the question is, HOW can I set it up? Perhaps it can't due to the wireless accesspoint.

Anyway this kind of extends past my knowledge of networking... All I know is that I need to figure out how to setup a network printer from my server (linksys), a network share, and it would be cool to be able to access network storage from the DVR... but to do this the two networks need to talk better.

So just some info:

Fios Router/Modem is 192.168.1.1
Linksys is 192.168.0.1 (network masks are 255.255.255.0 for both... this does not seems right to me but its what is working at the moment)

Change your subnet masks to 255.255.0.0

The zero's indicate the numbers that can change.

Thus :
Class A is your larges subnet of 255.0.0.0
Class B subnet of 255.255.0.0
& The regular Class C subnet of 255.255.255.0

Since you are changing the 3rd octet, you would need a class A or class B subnet in order for these networks to communicate.
