I have a simple web design blog for my business. Every time I post something new, I also post it on several social media too. But, I noticed that with facebook, myspace, and twitter, every time I link to my site, they make a page that redirects to my site and link to that page. So, I'm not getting a direct link to my site, but a redirect from one of their pages. My question is, does this help with web SEO? I know that obviously, having direct links to your website helps with web SEO, but do redirect pages help too?

When search engines crawl to find web pages they will find all links to your pages. While links on sites related to your site seem to carry more weight any link will help you out in SEO. That is, any link to your site is good.

Great! icon_up.gif (Not that I would have stopped posting them on fb, myspace, and twitter, but I was just curious.) Thanks! biggrin.gif

If the domain linking to your site has a PR over 3 they will usually help. Links to your site from lower PRs are still better than none
