Created a logsheet in Excel to keep track of a certain number of employees in a call centre - when their shift starts and ends, when they are on break (lunch and tea), what the call traffic is in 1 hour cycles, etc.

I need to transfer all the information, calculations to SQL, and also generate tables showing things like how many employees are available during any given time cycle, total hours worked during the week, etc

I'm just not sure how to go about getting all the information from Excel rows and coloumns to SQL... unsure.gif

Could anyone please give me some suggestions how to do this or what program/software I can use to do this?

I don't know how you are interfacing with your Database, but the standard approach is to export your Excel spreadsheet as a CSV (Comma-separated values) file, and then read the File parsing the data into queries.

Somebody told me that I could use Spiceworks to display the info I need to.. I've never used that program so I am not really sure what to do... is that a good program to use with reagrds to this problem? unsure.gif

The excel spreadsheet is not complicated and woek pretty okay, but it just doesnt give enough options with regards to the information displayed and queries I may want to do.

I have to create the database myself and add the features required and necessary, as the spreadsheet is just a means of keeping track of the call centre employees and their shifts, etc and very basic.
