Is Linux Bugging You?Stop right there. If you want to get rid of Linux that is running in a dual-boot config. Then you have to read this, if you do not do the following instructions, your computer will not boot.
First of all, get your XP disk and put it in the CD drive at start-up (when the BIOS loads) Then when the disk boots , type R for Recovery Console. Then enter your admin password. Then at the command prompt type:
CODE
fix mbr
. Wait until it is done, then re-boot. Take the disk out. You will not see the GRUB or LILO menu, as the XP recovery has fixed the master boot record.
Now in Windows XP click start. Then right click My Computer, click Manage. Then a window will appear with all sorts. Click Disk Management. Now delete the Linux partitions and make a big one for windows. (Be careful not to delete the windows partition!!!) If you hadnt fixed the mbr and had just deleted linux you wouldnt of been able to boot. It may not work sometimes the fix mbr and if you do not have the xp disk, I beleive you can use the windows 98 bootdisk at
Bootdisk I hope I have helped some people
Thanks Joshua
