Preventing Duplicate Booking of a facility

New D.I.C Head Joined: 11 Mar, 2007 Posts: 1 My Contributions	Hi Friends, I am developing a facilities E-booking system using ASP and MS Access Database. Currently my problem is preventing a new user from booking the same facility which is already booked at a given time period. E.g User 1 books Room 1 0n 7th Apr 07 from 8 am - 11 am. Then user 2 wants to book the same Room 1 on the same 7th Apr 07 but from 10 am onwards. Even though this not possible in real world, I don't know the coding so as to alert user 2 that the booking can't be done as there is an existing booking at this time. Please help me solve this problem. Many Thanks in Advance. Junaith

D.I.C Lover Joined: 4 Apr, 2002 Posts: 3,103 Thanked: 2 times Dream Kudos: 228 My Contributions	what is the UI that you're using like? because if you've got a timeline, you could block out the times that are already booked for that room, and then in the options for booking, perhaps a drop down, have it dynamically driven that if they choose a certian start them, the end time that it shows will be before the next booking so that times don't over lap, it's one possibility...
