Good Day,

I am a COMPLETE Newbie. I am taking Java for beginners now and struggling. I've been to the sun, java.com/java.net, etc site. Are there any really good sites to help me understand the madness??? Any interactive sites? Interactive programs? ETC anything to help in layman terms. I bought the book "Java Head First" it helps but...more needed. Forums like this help but I want explanations and how/why's not neccassarilly the answer to test. I love the post that folks give. Most explain how they came to that conclusion. I guess I need the theory on why. I'm a very systematic military person. Thank!!!

There are some good resources here:

http://freewarejava.com/tutorials/index.shtml

This one is pretty good as well:

http://java.about.com/od/beginningjava/a/beginjavatutor.htm

I know you said you've tried it, but one of the best is still the original:

http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/
