you should check out this if you have multiple computers on one desk.

its osx/linux/xp compatible and sets up a server that tracks your mouse and keyboard so they can be shared across all your computers. really easy setup, and can be set up to handle any number of monitor setups.

just installed it and am elated that now i don't have to have 2 keyboards and mousepads on my desk. switching from the mx revolution to the stock dell mouse was always a buzzkill.

also your clipboard can be used between computers too.

nice tool.

Synergy is very handy.

Be careful with it though, if I remember right it's packets can be sniffed pretty easily.

Here I found the article I read that talks about it http://ubuntu-tutorials.com/2007/04/16/upd...-over-the-wire/

Hopefully they've either fixed it or are working on it.

Synergy is the best and I think one of the most creative applications I have come across.

I love not have to uses a KVM to control all my computers at once. You also can copy and paste between desktops which is nice.

Very true about sniffing packets because synergy has no built in encryption from my understanding. They could go with a simple encryption method but it would take time to develope and test so I guess they dont want to.

Also Synergy is not a enterprise solution so their really is no need for encryption since it should be used on local network and for home based users.

But its great
