Hi all, thanks for having me at your site. My name is Brian.

I took on a website development for some condos here in Florida. I was initially told that basic html and graphic design is what they were looking for; subsequently, I'm now looking at a need for condo owners/potential owners to create a login with user name and pass to enter the site.

I've never done this before and and trying to now chew what I've bit off.

I've researched as much as I can understand and am not getting very far considering my current training and experience.

Can any provide me with a useful tool they have used in the past, IE: a service that has a pre-built engine to tackle this task? The few that I've found so far aren't as frilly as the boss wants it to be.

The basic function I need is a login/pass to go to the main page...and a registration for new members (basic: Name, phone, email address) to get a login. Nothing more than that.

I appreciate at least a redirection if anyone has come accross something that could help me.

Thanks all!

Brian

There must be more than just registering. Is there a requirement to protect certain pages with the username/password, i.e. "members only" area.

In any case, there are many 3rd party scripts available in PHP, ASP, Ruby, Perl, etc.

Do you know if any of these languages are available on the server your site is hosted on? This will dictate what solution you'll use.

No matter what, it's going to involve some sort of server-side language.
