Both problems could be easily solved with either route.

The "problems" with CSS are not problems, you just don't know how to get around what you think is a limitation.

For CSS, just do something like the following. I don't know what exactly it's called, but there are a couple CSS/(X)HTML guru's here who probably do.
CODE

#Bodydiv img {
   /*What you want to do with the images*/
}


Why does it work? It works because the style is only applied to images that are under #BodyDiv. No other img tags are touched.
