Sun Microsystems has been quiet about its JavaFX technology for building graphical applications since introducing it in May, but on Friday the company added a compiler to the platform. Also on tap is an updated plug-in to outfit the open source NetBeans platform for building JavaFX applications. New online demonstrations also are being made available.

Sounds like this is still geared toward the application developer... does Java not have anything good for the web designer yet?

Here's the link to openjfx site with information on the compiler: https://openjfx.dev.java.net/

Sun Java Studio Creator is something like that. It has many shiny AJAX widgets and JSF/JSP support. It is interesting to try it following some tutorials, however when I saw it (like a year ago) it was really frightening what was going on in the background, and I was never sure what would happen if at one place the IDE would do a bug, it looked like impossible to fix it in the source - probably with some experience this would get better.

A good IDE is a must for all who are into web-designing .
Since they have to concentrate more into design rather than, coding ..
