Vala "aims to bring modern programming language features to GNOME developers without imposing any additional runtime requirements and without using a different ABI compared to applications and libraries written in C." It offers features such as: interfaces, properties, lambda expressions, local variable type inference, and more. This release includes: performance improvements, improved support for generic types, memory management fixes, support for inner classes, and other changes.
