I found this interesting article this evening outlining the 8 hottest IT Management jobs for now and into 2008, I always find it interesting what others are gunning for in my industry. I also find it weird what's on the list, you can see for yourself here

I have trouble believing those salary ranges myself. I have done research in the area of director in web systems and on average can only find jobs at 65-75k canadian, little more in the US maybe pushing 80k. No where near a starting of 95 and no way into 127k. At 127k you are pushing VP level salaries in most companies.

Depends what type of companies - in smaller companies, the salaries are sometime lower at the executive level, in national level companies they can be higher. I work for a national level company in Canada, and the VP salaries for many are in the 200K rage or more, director salaries well into the 100K range.

Yeah you are probably right. It is weird that here in Vancouver you have tons of tech companies and real-estate is through the roof, but pay can be down in the dumps. I haven't worked for the huge national companies so I wouldn't know. Maybe I am working for the wrong companies!

No, you're right...a lot of tech companies can pay somewhat lower these days for programmers, especially given the current appetite and availability of offshoring coding activities.
