can anyone help me about folding??

i just need the algorithm of the program..

it is a file handling program..

sample input of the program:
AAAAAAAAAABABABCCD
NEERCYESYESYESNEERCYESYESYES

output will be:
9(A)3(AB)CCD
2(NEERC3(YES))
